MLK Day

While most people had off from work for Martin Luther King Day, I was floating around the Internet finding some cool things. Here they are for you to enjoy.

-STEREOGUM finds a video that is even funnier now than I thought it was in 1994.

-I found a recording of the Guillemots covering Take Me Out by Franz Ferdinand. If you are a fan of either band you should check it out for sure. Give it til 1:15 to kick in.

The Guillemots have another single coming out Annie, Lets not wait. I'm not too sure what I think of it, but if you like pop so sugary that your teeth may fall out then check it out.

-The other day I read about V2 records cutting 35 jobs and dropping its artists. That means bands like The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, Moby, Blood Brothers, Whirlwind Heat, Burning Brides, The Greenhornes, and many others are free agents looking for a label. Could this mean Third Man will be getting a bit larger? Does Third Man Records still exist? Will Jack start a new label? I'm not sure, I guess we'll see. I do know that it would be pretty cool to see Jack White develop a roster of some pretty rockin bands.
