Kings of Dylan

Ch-eck. Ch-eck one, two. Chhh-eck one, two, three.

Kings of Leon. The band just simply rocks out. Their live shows are the most energetic of any I've been lately. It pretty refreshing to see a new-er type band act this way. The don't even run around on stage or anything like that, but you get the feeling they just want to rock your face off. If you haven't seen these guys yet, do so.

Another thing that I find amazing about these guys is how respected they are within the music community. In the past year to 18 months they've opened up for The Strokes, U2, and Pearl Jam. Now, they've been asked to open up for a portion of Bob Dylan's 'Modern Times' Tour. Between you and me, that's not bad company to keep. Its pretty amazing how these rock figureheads are throwing the Kings a bone, and steering them in the right direction.

To say that I'm excited to hear the Kings of Leon's 3rd Album, tentatively titled 'Because of the Times', would be an understatement. Hopefully this will be out late 2006/early 2007. Until then you can catch them on the Dylan tour, Austin City Limits Festival, and on tour dates of their own scheduled around both of the other gigs. And if the past holds true again, they WILL be playing new songs at the upcoming shows.
